Everyone have his/her own vision
about happiness. One can take is as being at a peace with who he/she is. A
secure network of friends is also a sign of a happier life along with the
freedom of pursuing your inmost dreams.
Whatever is your version of true
happiness, living a happier, and satisfied life is still within your control. A
positive change in your regular habits can help you to live a happier life.
Here are some of the most important
daily habits which you need to change for having the happier life.
1. Being grateful
Just being grateful can boost your
mood a lot although you will have a lot of other advantages too. For instance, a
recent two-part study explores that practicing gratitude can have a vivid impact on
feelings of optimism and happiness.
Commence daily routine by
acknowledging one thing you’re grateful for. This can be done while doing
little daily routine like washing your face and hands in the morning.
You should continue recognizing the
pleasant things in your daily life during the whole day work. They can be some
actions done by others, for example, feeling that someone cares you a lot,
either your colleague or your neighbor.
2. Have Sound Sleep:
Having a sound sleep will eventually
lead you to be less sensitive to negative emotions. We should be aware that having
a sound sleep helps our body to recover from the day and we become more
satisfied and productive. Sound sleep is also significant for a happier life.
Following
are a few tips to help you build a sound sleep routine:
·
Stick
to a sleep schedule, means that going to bed and waking up at some particular
time daily, including weekends will make you feel good.
- Reserve 30 minutes before bed
as quiet time. Taking a bath, reading, or do something relaxing.
- Do not take heavy meal or drink
more water just before sleeping.
- Manage dim light in your
bedroom and keep it cool and quiet. It all means creating a restful
environment.
- Comfortable bedding is also
helpful to have sound sleep.
- You should limit your day time
nap. No long nap but it may be of 30 minutes.
·
Include
physical activity in your daily routine i.e. regular
physical activity can help you to have better sleep. But it does not mean that
you remain active too close to bedtime.
·
Remain busy and spending time outside every day might be helpful
for sound sleep.
3. Have fun with Friends/Family
Having fun with friends and family is one of the top five regrets of the dying. If you need even more evidence that time with friends is helpful for you, research proves it can turn you happier right now. Our happiness depends on much of the social time, even for introverts. Time spent with friends and family for fun makes a big difference to how happy we feel.
4. Give a compliment
Kindness can turn you more satisfied
as the research shows that Acts of Kindness and Acts of Novelty Affect Life Satisfaction. Giving an honest compliment is a quick, simple way to brighten
someone’s day while increasing your own happiness as well.
When you offer someone a compliment
on physical appearance, ensure doing it in a humble way. It will give you
pleasure and that pleasure will make you satisfied. A satisfied person always
has sound sleep.
5. Turn off your phone
Turn off not only your phone but
also all the electronics when you want to have a rest. Let your mind stroll
free for a change but you can read or meditate still.
Do not put your phone near your
pillow but place at a distance to avoid distraction.
6. Help Others regardless of how
much you can:
Helping others is always a joy, I have
a firm belief and like this idea so much that I created with this name The Helping
Hand back in 2004.
Although spending money on other
people makes us happier than having stuff for ourselves. But the other option
is about spending our time on other people in case you are not able to spend
money on others.
A study of volunteering in Germany explored that most of the volunteers were affected very much when
their opportunities to help others were taken away. Their level of pleasure reduced
as a result.
7. Be Innovative and Creative.
Do live in the past but be
innovative one. Sometimes, artists become moody and depressed, but studies show
that engaging in creative activities on a constant
basis really makes you happier. By spending time using the imagination and
being innovative and creative have more passion. It provides you feelings of
long-term happiness. Writing, painting, drawing, gardening and musical performance can make
you more innovative and creative.
8. Enjoy yourself.
Feeling bored in life routine
prevents you to feel happy. Stimulation is the part of feeling happier in life
so be stimulated and enjoy with yourself. Sometimes, surprise yourself by
establishing goals outside your comfort zone. Never hesitate
about new or unexpected situations. Riding a bicycle is a joy one is young and
remember to enjoy the ride of your choice either it is a bike or a shuttle
service.
9. Stop worrying.
You will face the toxic anxiety if
worrying about everything constantly which creates negative thoughts in your
mind. You become afraid of even those things over which you not have control.
Worry less live more is golden proverb to keep in mind.
10. Do what you love.
Placing this point in the end but
still it should be taken as the first and the foremost one. Hating your job can
never make you happy. If you don’t enjoy your job, you are just
wasting your life. Just explore what are you interested in? What are you truly
zealous about? Building a career in an area that motivates you will provide you
satisfaction, and your pleasure will increase exponentially.
